The Finance Minor offers courses in economics, business, and finance to introduce students to relevant financial and economic theory, financial markets and the institutional structure of the financial sector.
This minor helps to learn fundamental concepts of finance and financial literacy, investment analysis, financial planning, market analysis and the assessment of risk for both individuals and firms. Students from any discipline may add the Finance minor.
Students in the Finance Minor learn from a flexible curriculum to complement their major course of study. Upon completing the minor, students will demonstrate skills in valuation models, managing financial securities and analyzing financial markets in terms of risk, growth potential, and term life. Students will develop financial literacy for financial management and planning while also learning the broader structure of financial institutions and their impact on the economy and society.
