With the lowest tuition and fees of all nine MA State Universities, by an average of 10%, or $1,300, we set the bar for affordability. For 2026-2027, full-time, in-state tuition and fees are only $11,886 for the year. And that’s before our generous financial aid and scholarships are applied.
New England Regional Discount
Residents of New England pay only $485 a year more in tuition and fees than Massachusetts residents. This means that you’ll often pay less at Fitchburg State than you would in your home state. For 2026-2027, full-time, in-state tuition and fees are only $12,371 for the year, and that’s before financial aid is applied.

Falcon Tuition Discount
Full-time, matriculated students from outside of New England receive a $5,000 tuition discount. For 2026-2027, tuition and fees for eligible students are only $12,966 for the year.
