Commuter Affairs

The Commuter Affairs Program is a function of the Office of Student Engagement in the Hammond Campus Center. Our sole purpose is to help you, as current or future commuter student, as you navigate your Fitchburg State University experience.

If you’re commuting to Fitchburg State, or are planning to commute, you’re not alone. Commuter students make up about 50% of the undergraduate student body. We understand that being a commuter student can present many challenges. Not only do you need to deal with the daily commute but often you need to balance home, social, and academic responsibilities.

We provide a number of services and programs to help you, as a commuter student, participate in campus activities and feel more connected to Fitchburg State.

Clubs and Organizations

Get Involved! Many commuters are the heads of student clubs and organizations on campus. We have over 60 student clubs and organizations at Fitchburg State for just about any interest. Come see us in the Office of Student Engagement in the Hammond Campus Center G13 to tell us what you want to get involved in on campus.

Commuter Programming

We offer programming dedicated to commuters throughout the year. Free breakfasts each month, a drive-in movie, pop-up cooking experiences with Dining Services, and social programs are just many of the things we offer.

Commuter Lounge

A dedicated lounge in the Hammond Campus Center in room G12 just for commuter students. You can relax, study, watch TV, enjoy free coffee and snacks, or use a fridge and microwave in between classes.

Commuter Lockers

Lockers are available at a first come, first serve basis at no charge to commuter students. Lockers are located near the Commuter Lounge on the G-Level of the Hammond Campus Center. Contact us at studentengagement@fitchburgstate.edu to sign up for one.

Parking

Parking services is here to help get you parking on campus including obtaining a permit. Get directions, maps of campus and the parking lots.

Falcon Bazaar

The Falcon Bazaar Necessity and Food Pantry is a free service located in Hammond Hall, room G-16 and serves our students, faculty, and staff who may suffer from food insecurity.
