International Credential Evaluations

Applicants who have completed their schooling outside of the United States are required to submit an international credential evaluation. As of Spring 2023 admission, we accept evaluations and the respective type of evaluation from one of the following credentialing agencies only:

If your documents are in a language other than English and you need them translated, please consult with one of the above evaluation agencies to see if they perform this service.

Note for graduate applicants:
The credential evaluation provides the Admissions Office with a degree equivalency that must demonstrate the degree earned outside of the U.S. is equivalent to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor's degree. If you are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, please wait to have your credentials evaluated until you have completed your degree. An additional evaluation will be requested if you have coursework in progress. If you have completed any coursework or degree beyond a bachelor's degree in another country, it is required to have those transcripts or mark sheets evaluated as well.

Official Transcripts or Mark Sheets

The above evaluation agencies should provide Fitchburg State University with an official copy of your transcript or mark sheet. You do not have to separately mail us official copies of your academic credentials. However, if for some reason we do not receive your transcripts, we will need official transcripts sent to us directly from the issuing institution from an email from the school's domain. Please note that any application item submitted to Fitchburg State University becomes the property of the institution and we are unable to return any documents received.

English Proficiency Testing is required for admission. Below are the minimal score requirements for each exam. Please note the test score requirement is waived if the applicant has a U.S. university degree or is from a country where English is an official language (please see the list of countries  below).
