Adaptive Technology Lab

A variety of assistive technology software programs is available in the Adaptive Technology Lab. The lab is located in Disability Services, Hammond Hall Room 303.

Adobe Software

Adobe Software is available to students, faculty and staff through the WebStore at OnTheHub.


Web-based assessment alternative to Scantron tests.


Fitchburg State Alert notifies the campus community about important campus announcements including campus and regional emergencies, snow closures/delays and faculty absences.

Antivirus & Computer Maintenance

McAfee VirusScan/AntiSpyware Enterprise is available free of charge to students, faculty and staff*. McAfee is also installed on all university-owned computers.

*Faculty and staff are licensed to install McAfee on a single home computer that's used for university-related work.

Apple TV

Apple TVs are available in all classrooms and conference rooms across campus, allowing you to wirelessly connect your devices to the multimedia projectors installed in those areas.



Banner is the university's student information system.

Blackboard is the university's online course management system. It is used to deliver web-based distance learning courses and as a technology supplement for face-to-face taught courses.


Cable TV

Falcon CATV system services the resident halls and select locations throughout the campus and is provided as a convenience for residents.

Falcon Key

Your Falcon Key is your main network password. It is used to log into the network, Blackboard, staff email and lab computers.

Fitchburg Gold

OneCard holders are able to store cash value on their card. Fitchburg Gold funds are accepted at many places around campus.


Graphic Design

Print Services provides graphic design services for official university business to academic departments, administrative offices, on-campus organizations, and funded student organizations.


Information Security

Information Security is the practice of defending information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification or destruction.


J Drive/I Drive

All students, faculty, and staff have a "J Drive", which is their own location on the network to store their documents. Faculty and staff members also have access to a shared network location known as the "I Drive", where they can share files with others in their department.


Mediated Classrooms

The university's mediated classrooms are equipped with tools that are designed to improve the classroom experience.

Microsoft DreamSpark (formerly MSDNAA)

Microsoft DreamSpark allows students access to download and install a variety of Microsoft software titles free of charge.

Computer Science/Computer Information Systems majors or students taking a CS course only

Fitchburg State Mobile is available as an app for iOS and Android devices and as a mobile website.

Mobile printing allows you to print documents from your mobile device to printers across campus.

Web4 (Self-Service Banner)

Web4 is a web-based interface to the university's student records system (Banner). Students use Web4 to register for classes, view their class schedule, pay fees, view financial aid information, view grades and transcripts, and update their contact information. Faculty use Web4 to view class lists, enter grades, enter red-cards, and display advisee data.
