The 2025 Hispanic Heritage Month theme, “Collective Heritage: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” centers on the enduring influence of Hispanic communities across the United States and beyond. It emphasizes the deep and diverse cultural traditions, historical legacies, and contributions that shape not only Hispanic identities but also the broader American experience. From activism and the arts to labor, leadership, and innovation, the theme calls for meaningful reflection on the ways in which Hispanic Americans have built community, resisted injustice, and created change across generations. Like family, language, and storytelling, heritage serves as both anchor and compass—preserving the past while guiding the future. From September 15th to October 15th, we recognize the dynamic spirit, resilience, and brilliance of Hispanic communities and affirm their vital role in shaping a more inclusive and inspiring future for all.

The 20 Latin American countries and territories that are observed during National Hispanic Heritage Month are Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.

The Hispanic Heritage Month events are made possible by the support of the Newman Center Trust Fund.
