We commemorate and encourage the study, observance, and celebration of the vital role of African Americans in history and our society.
The 2027 theme, "From Black Print Culture to Digital Blackness," captures the transformation of how African Americans communicate and express identity. It reflects the journey from early printed works and Negro history publications to today's vibrant digital platforms that amplify Black voices globally. This evolution shapes modern Black expression, highlighting how history, culture, and activism continue to adapt with technology while maintaining deep roots.
