Geographic Information System Minor

A student may earn an interdisciplinary minor in Geographic Information System (GIS) by completing 18 credits of coursework including:

Required Courses

CSC 1500 Computer Science I 3 cr.
CSC 1550 Computer Science II 3 cr.
GEOG 3120 Computer Cartography 3 cr.
GEOG 4000 Geographic Information System 3 cr.

Two additional courses (chosen from the following list in consultation with a GEOG/CS/ITEC professor/advisor):

GEOG 2400 Introduction to Geospatial Technologies
ITEC 2410 Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
CSC 3050 Web Programming with Java
GEOG 3300 Urban Geography
GEOG 4500 Remote Sensing of the Environment
*GEOG 4900 Independent Study in Geography (3 credit)
*GEOG 4940 Internship in Geography (3 credit)

*One of the two courses may count towards the minor
