Navigate360

This page provides guidance, training, and resources to help faculty and staff use Navigate360 effectively to support student success.

All About Navigate360

Navigate360 (formerly SSC Navigate) is both an appointments platform and “big data” initiative. Support offices and Faculty can use this platform to keep appointments organized and be accessible to students. This platform also analyzes the past decade of student performance at our institution in order to provide predictive analytics related to courses and student attributes.

Through tailored reports, departments are able to assess key trends and insights in student performance and identify opportunities for targeted initiatives, curricular change, or enhanced resources.
It also provides a comprehensive advising platform which applies the historical data analytics to current students in order to provide advisors with detailed insights into their advisees.

Steps for Setting-up Appointments

It is strongly recommended to sync your calendar to the Navigate360 platform so that appointments can flow between your Navigate360 calendar and professional calendar, blocking off that time and preventing double booking.

  1. Log-in and open the Calendar page (by selecting the calendar icon from the lefthand menu.
  2. Click the Settings and Sync button (top right), then click Setup Sync.
  3. Select Google Calendar from the list of options and enter your Gmail email and password when prompted.
  4. After entering your credentials, you are redirected back to the Navigate360 Calendar page, and prompted to finish setting up your calendar. Choose one (not both) of the following options:
    • Select Calendar for Two-Way Sync (Recommended Option): All calendar items sync back and forth between your Navigate360 calendar and your professional calendar (i.e., Navigate360 calendar ↔ professional calendar). Events from your professional calendar will display as Busy in your Navigate360 calendar. Limited details from Navigate360 will display in your professional calendar.
    • Select Calendar for Free/Busy Sync: Choose this option if you only want events from your professional calendar to display as Busy on your Navigate360 calendar (i.e., professional calendar ↔ Navigate360 calendar).
  5. After selecting the appropriate calendar, click Save. Your sync is complete!
  1. Log-in and click on the My Availability tab in your homepage.
  2. Under Available Times, click Actions and select Add Time.
  3. In the Add Availability pop-up, select the days and working hours when you are available to meet with students.
  4. Select a duration to apply your availability configuration (e.g. a single semester, specific dates, indefinitely).
  5. Select your availability types.
    • Appointments: Students can schedule in advance for a specific time slot with a faculty/staff member.
    • Drop-ins: No prior scheduling needed—students check in for immediate or same-day help. This can be used for office hours if desired.
    • Campaigns: Faculty/staff send targeted invites for students to book appointments, often for specific groups or needs.
  6. Select the appropriate Care Unit
    • For Faculty: Faculty Advising & Appointments
    • For ACT: Academic Skills & Tutoring
    • For CSAC: Career Planning & Changing Majors
    • For SU Success Coaching: *Success Coaching*
    • For Athletics: Student Athlete Services
    • For all other offices: Other Support & Information
  7. Select the Location where appointments will occur (e.g. Faculty Office for faculty appointments)
  8. Select the student services you will provide to students during this availability. You may select one or more, but you must select at least one.
  9. Use the optional Special Instructions area to add any comments.
    • Faculty: It is highly recommended that you specify your office location here
  10. If you would like to allow multiple students to join an appointment time, set the Max Number of Students per Appointment at the bottom of the page. This may be especially relevant for drop-in availability, like for office hours.
  11. Click the Save button!
  12. You may repeat this process if you would like to define different availabilities for different appointment types. Note: You can have as much availability as needed.
    • To make this easier, you may copy an already-created availabiliy, select the time you would like to copy and then click the Copy Time button. The availability will be copied and a dialog will open allowing you to make edits or to save your newly created availability.
    • To edit your availability, click on the Edit button
    • To delete your time, simply select the time and click the Delete Time button.
    • IMPORTANT: If you want to add this availability to your Google calendar, in order to hold it until students make appointments, you must create these events as Free. Otherwise, these events will feed over to your Navigate360 calendar and make you unavailable for student appointments.
  13. Offer support through appointments (see instructions above for set-up).
  14. Issue alerts to highlight students’ needs and facilitate interventions. Alerts can be issued when viewing a student’s profile or by searching for a student and using the Actions dropdown.
