Safety & Crime Prevention

The Fitchburg State University Police places a high priority on the safety and security of those who attend, work and/or visits the campus. Although the University Police proactively patrols, the safety and security of the campus is the responsibility of all those who are part of the Fitchburg State University Community. The University has placed call boxes around campus for your convenience as well as inside of the academic buildings and elevators. Cameras which are monitored from the University Police’s Communication Center are also conveniently located around campus in parking lots and in buildings.

We ask that is you see something suspicious you contact us 3111 on campus and 978-665-3111 off campus. All 911 calls dialed from your cell phones will connect you to the Massachusetts State Police then transferred to the Fitchburg State University Communication Center. All 911 calls dialed from a land line be connect you to the City of Fitchburg Police then will be transferred to the Fitchburg State University Communication Center. For this reason we ask that you dial us directly to expedite our response.
