Readmission into an SGOCE Program

Whether life took you in a new direction for a while or things did not go as planned, we are glad you are ready to come back. At Fitchburg State, we know the path to success isn’t always straight—and we have made it easy to come back and keep moving forward.

Why You Might Be Here

You may need to apply for readmission if any of the following apply to you:

• Inactive Status - If you have not registered for courses in three consecutive semesters (there are two 7-week terms in each semester), you have likely been withdrawn due to inactivity. Don’t worry—readmission is a quick and simple way to get back on track.
• Academic Dismissal - If you were academically dismissed, you are eligible to apply for readmission after sitting out for one semester. For example, if your dismissal occurred during a fall semester, you can petition to return for the following summer.

How to Get Started

Getting readmitted is easier than you think. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Complete the Petition for Readmission - access the petition form.
2. Submit Your Form - You can save the petition to your desktop which will allow you to open it and add an electronic signature. We will obtain all other signatures on your behalf. Once completed please resend to gcepetition@fitchburgstate.edu as a PDF. Make sure to write a detailed description of what you are seeking and why.  Also, if you have any additional documents to support your request you have the ability to do so. Once submitted, we’ll review your petition and get back to you within a week.
