In Short

The nature of the coursework invites students to both reach beyond the boundaries of their academic major and join in scholarly conversation with students and faculty from disciplines other than their own and seek depth, through thesis into their major or other interest.

The Honors minor, an option for transfer students and students in their second year, provides an abbreviated Honors experience. The minor includes four General Education Honors courses and a two-semester Honors thesis/project. Students who complete the minor graduate as a Commonwealth Honors Scholar, have access to the Honors Commons, participate in Honors activities, enjoy early registration, and meet with the Honors coordinator for advising. Students in the Honors minor do not receive an Honors stipend.
