Transfer Information Session (Virtually)

This information session is designed for undergraduate transfer students.

We will  cover the transfer admissions application process, MassTransfer eligibility, day and evening programs, tuition and fees and financial aid.  We will also let you know how to connect with transfer counselors

Virtual Transfer Fair, December 2, 2020

The Massachusetts State Universities invite prospective transfer students to a Virtual Transfer Fair to be held on December 2, 2020!

From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Transfer Admissions Counselors from each Massachusetts State University will be available to virtually meet with students on a drop-in basis at the links below.

Please share the attached invitation with your students. We look forward to speaking with them about transfer admission, transfer credit and the affordable, high-quality, educational opportunities within the Massachusetts State University system.



Virtual Transfer Office Hours

Please note: Our virtual office hours will not occur the week of November 23. Please visit us at our virtual transfer fairs that will take place during National Transfer week.

Otherwise, our office hours as as follows:

Tuesdays 2-4pm 
Wednesdays 10-12pm

Academic Department Tour: Comm Media & Game Design

Our Communications Media and Game Design programs place strong emphasis on experiential learning.

With access to industry standard equipment and software, you’ll gain hands-on experience that is invaluable to your professional success.

Offered on select Wednesdays at 1pm throughout the semester, student-led tours of the Communications Media and Game Design department will showcase our various classroom and production areas.

Academic Department Tour: Education

The Education Department will not be offering tours during the Fall 2020 semester.

Academic Department Tour: Nursing

We have dedicated lab spaces for our Nursing students, including a health assessment lab, clinical skills lab, and a home care setting lab.

This hands-on learning approach lets you test and challenge your clinical and decision-making skills in realistic patient care scenarios with technologically advanced manikins like the SimMan 3G and SimNewB.

Hosted on Mondays, our staff-led tour gives you a detailed look at our program and its facilities.

Academic Department Tour: Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice Information Sessions are led by a faculty member and focus on our police certification. They last approximately one hour. We ask that you please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time. The Criminal Justice info session will be followed by a full campus tour.

We will be offering these tours on select Tuesdays at 1 pm during the year.

Academic Department Tour: Biology

Our Biology & Chemistry programs place strong emphasis on experiential learning. With access to state of the art labs, our students gain hands-on experience that is invaluable to their professional success.

Biology & Chemistry Department tours, led by the Chair of the Department and last about one hour.  We ask that you please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time.

Academic Department Tour: Exercise and Sports Science

Have you ever thought about a career in physical therapy, rehabilitation, fitness, or strength coaching?

Have you ever wondered what predicts performance in endurance events like long distance running?

Or are you just curious what Exercise Science is all about? These and other questions will be answered on your tour of the Exercise and Sports Science Department. During this visit, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss programs and potential career opportunities with the department chair, tour the Exercise Physiology Laboratory, and observe current students perform a test of cardiovascular fitness.

Request a Group Visit

High School counselors, teachers, or leaders of college-bound organizations are encouraged to speak with us to organize a group visit to campus.

These visits are intended for prospective college-bound students already in or about to enter high school, or for already enrolled college students transferring from another institution.

Many current students will tell you it was their first visit to our campus that confirmed their decision to attend Fitchburg State. When you set foot on our beautiful campus you will know pretty quickly if we are the right fit for you.

Getting Here

Fitchburg State University is located in a residential section of Fitchburg, the urban center of North Worcester County. It's approximately 25 miles north of Worcester, 50 miles west of Boston and 15 miles south of New Hampshire. The compact campus of 32 buildings on 48 acres is easily accessible by car, bus or train from all areas of New England.

The Admissions Office is located at 280 Highland Avenue in the Anthony Building. To reach the office, you must enter at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Pearl Street (Campus Pizza is on the corner) since Highland Avenue is not a through-street. Admissions has reserved parking spaces in front of the Anthony Building. Additional spots may be found in the Ross Parking lot, if the spots in front of the Anthony Building are all taken upon your arrival.
