If you are currently a member of Fitchburg State University’s education community, congratulations on your choice of pursuing an education that will make a difference in the lives of children and young adults. We have an excellent faculty that is ready to join you in your quest to explore and expand your knowledge as an educator.
The educator licensure programs at the University are rooted in a “Classroom Ready” philosophy that will place you in schools with students during your 1st semester and each semester after. The program believes strongly in integrated field experiences that help you observe, practice and teach as part of your program.

Fitchburg State University is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Our licensure programs have been awarded full accreditation by AAQEP through December 31, 2030. Accreditation acknowledges that a program prepares effective educators who continue to grow as professionals and has demonstrated the commitment and capacity to maintain quality.
