English Studies Writing Contest - Call for Submissions

English Studies Annual Creative Writing Awards!

Top seven entries will receive a $50 gift card to the university bookstore and be invited to read from their work at a reception honoring the winners of this year's high school writing contest.

The Matti N. Antila Prize for Poetry. Submit a Microsoft Word document with 5-7 of your best poems.

The Louis P. Shepherd Creative Writing Award for Fiction/Nonfiction. Submit a Microsoft Word document containing one nonfiction essay or short story.

Deadline for Submissions:  March 20, 2026
