Call for You FIT Here! Fitchburg Heritage Podcast Creators

About This Event

Who can participate? Any Fitchburg State student, alum, faculty, librarian, or staff member as well as any Fitchburg community member!

What would I do? 

• Attend a two-hour idea development and training session in late April or early May (will be a virtual option). No previous podcasting experience necessary! 
• Prepare and record a podcast episode for the Perseverantia Fitchburg Your Story podcast series by the end of May! 
• Be eligible for one of three prizes!

What could I talk about? 

You could either: 

• Tell your own Fitchburg Heritage story (listen to an example of a personal perspective podcast episode - "Best of Both Worlds" by Kensley Antoine
• Or research and tell a Fitchburg Heritage story from the university's or the city's past (listen to an example - "She Spoke" by Julia Grace Ducharme
• Help finding a topic provided

Prizes: Selected from among all 2025-2026 Fitchburg Your Story podcast episodes. Judging by university and community members of the You FIT Here Team!

• Best Overall: $200 
• Best Delivery: $150 
• Most Compelling Emphasis on Marginalized Communities: $150 

Note: prizes may be in the form of a gift card depending on funding procedures.
