Hispanic Heritage Month: World Languages Bridging Communities with Dr. Karina Bautista

3:30pm - 4:30pm Hammond Hall | Room 314

About This Event

Join Dr. Karina Bautista from the Humanities Department for a podcast and talk highlighting a community-based effort led by Fitchburg State’s Spanish Program in partnership with the Falcon Academy, and co-directed and produced through the Perseverantia Perspectives Podcast Series. Students reflect on how their Spanish skills came alive as they taught a medical Spanish lesson to local eighth graders, bridging classroom learning with real-world community needs. Their stories show how language education fosters connection, cultural awareness, and collaboration.
