Bio/Chem Club presents: Adventures in Conservation Biology
3:30pm - 5:00pm Antonucci Science ComplexSCI 243
About This Event
Former Fitchburg State student Nick Beauregard recently earned his PhD in biology from Northern Arizona University. In this talk, he will speak about his experience working as conservation biologist over the last 15 years, which includes field work in places ranging from the Alaskan Arctic, to the Grand Canyon, to the Sonoran Desert. He will discuss his journey to graduate school, where his research focused on using habitat models and bio-acoustics to help manage endangered birds, and how this prepared him for his new job with National Audubon Society working to protect birds and their habitats. Beauregard will also provide advice for students seeking careers in environmental science and wildlife biology, or those who may be interested in pursuing graduate school.
Refreshments will be provided.
