University supports homeless student scholarship program
Fitchburg State will support homeless students as part of the Commonwealth’s “Moving to College” scholarship program, designed to support unaccompanied homeless youth from the state as they embark on a college degree.

University recognized with Leading by Example award for sustainability efforts
Fitchburg State was recognized for a host of sustainability efforts across campus, including completion of an extensive energy project resulting in elimination of #6 oil combustion on campus, achieving LEED Silver Certification for three buildings, and recycling and waste diversion programs.

Professor co-authors pandemic playbook for kids
The funny, irreverent chapter book for young readers was co-authored by Professor Katharine Covino-Poutasse from the English Studies Department. Topics include technology, how to take a break from screens, strategies for focusing on schoolwork, and suggestions to help kids feel better.
Strategic Plan for 2020-25 approved
The plan uses the concept of education justice as a compass, orienting the university as it evolves.
ALFA Spring Registration opens on Dec 16
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 for ALFA’s spring courses, which will be offered in remote format.
