received the Dominican Pride Award at the 2026 Dominicanísimos Awards Gala. The event celebrates the excellence, leadership, culture and achievements of the Dominican community in the United States and abroad. Valdez received her bachelor's degree in Communications Media from Fitchburg State. She currently works as for the City of Boston as the Director of Cultural Affairs.
