During the 2023-2024 academic year, the university is undergoing a review of its mission, vision and core values. A campus-wide committee will conduct an inclusive and transparent review that will include regular updates to the campus community and requests for feedback. We ask all members of our campus community to engage in the process throughout the year. Upon completion of its review, the committee will submit recommendations for approval through campus governance, the Board of Trustees and the Board of Higher Education.

As defined by the New England Commission of Higher Education's Standard 1.1, "The mission of the institution defines its distinctive character, addresses the needs of society, identifies the students the institution seeks to serve, and reflects both the institution’s traditions and its vision for the future. The institution’s mission provides the basis upon which the institution identifies its priorities, plans its future, and evaluates its endeavors; it provides a basis for the evaluation of the institution against the Commission’s Standards."

Mission Review Committee

The committee includes representation from across campus constituencies.
