Small Group Tutoring

Due to the large demand for tutoring in particular courses, the Tutor Center cannot offer one-on-one tutoring as we do not have enough peer tutors to cover the demand. Instead, the Tutor Center offers small group tutor sessions that meet regularly for 75 minutes each week. Small group tutoring is offered for the following courses:

  • Anatomy and Physiology I & II
  • Pathopharmacology I and II
  • Foundations in Nursing
  • Health Assessment
  • Medical-Surgical
  • General Chemistry I & II
  • Chemistry for Health Sciences
  • Organic Chemistry
  • General Biology I & II
  • Genetics
  • Physics

How does Group Tutoring Work?

Student groups of 2 - 6 students meet weekly for 75 minutes with the same tutor for the entire semester. Tutors review course concepts, facilitate group conversation, and encourage collaboration among students.  Students in group sessions are expected to arrive on time, come prepared, and bring questions.
