Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) has served the students of Fitchburg State for over 70 years and has spent those nearly eight decades fighting for students, championing the underdog, and making sure that everyone gets a fair shake.

Who We Are

We are a group of dedicated students working tirelessly to help our fellow Falcons prosper at this great institution. We are responsible for funding clubs, sitting on committees with faculty and staff, and addressing student concerns in order to improve the campus experience.

Our members serve on over a dozen university committees and vote alongside faculty in order to weigh in on issues that affect us all. Our members are from every area of the student body. We are student athletes, communications students, nursing students, and poly-sci students. We are commuters, residents, and brothers and sisters to nearly all of the Greek organizations on campus. We are RAs, TAs, and Chartwells workers. And we are working tirelessly for the University.

What We Do

We are the governing student body at Fitchburg State University. The senators who serve on SGA represent the campus community. We do this by serving on committees alongside faculty, staff, and administrators. SGA is also in charge of all clubs on campus and handles all club constitutions and budgets.

Get Involved

SGA elections happen every fall and spring. In order to run, you must be a full-time undergraduate student and meet the GPA requirement. You can access the application any time on orgsync, and in order to get your name on the ballot, you'll obtain 75 signatures from other full-time undergrad students.

Contact and Meeting Times

We meet every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in Hammond G01 during the semester.
