Online Registration and Payment Instructions for Online-Accelerated Students

View the courses required for your program of study, and registration/payment deadlines:

Web4

Class registrations, schedule management, and managing payments can all be done online, using Fitchburg State University's Web4 interface. To sign in to Web4, complete the following steps:

  1. In your web browser address bar, go to the following URL: https://web4.fitchburgstate.edu
  2. Click Enter Secure Area.
  3. In User ID, enter either your student ID (@XXXXXXXX) or your Social Security number.
  4. In PIN, enter your security PIN code.
  5. Click Login.

Note for first-time Web4 users

If you have not previously used Web4, your PIN is your date of birth in mmddyy format, where the last two digits of your birth year are used.

After you sign in with your User ID and PIN, you will be prompted to create a new PIN, which must be least six characters in length, and contain letters, numbers, or a combination of both — no punctuation or special characters.

After confirming your new PIN, Web4 will display a Login Verification Security and Answer page, and will require you to create a question and response to help you remember your PIN if you forget.

Using Web4 to manage your classes and payments

After you sign in to Web4, you can use it to complete the following tasks:

Registering for courses

  1. In Web4, click the Student tab.
  2. Scroll towards the bottom of the page, and then click Registration.
  3. Click Select Term, and then select the term you are registering for from the list.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. If you know the course registration numbers (CRNs) of the courses for which you want to register, click Add/Drop Classes. You can then input and submit the CRNs.
  6. If you do not know the CRNs for the courses you wish to register for, click on Class Search and choose Management, Click on Course Search and look for a section of the course by clicking on View Sections. Choose any section that has a location of OAP. Click on Select to the far left and then click on Register.

After you have finished registering for courses, you can use Web4 to make a payment.

Explanation of registration error messages

  • Prerequisite Error - You have not met the required prerequisites. If you believe that you have, please contact your advisor.
  • Campus Restriction - This course is intended for students in an online/campus blended program, and is not open to accelerated online students.
  • Duplicate CRNs - This course is already on your student schedule. Remove the CRN, and then select another course.
  • Max Hours Exceeded - You have exceeded the maximum amount of credits allowed for registration. If you have received approval from the Dean through a Student Petition to register for more than the allowed credits, you will need to contact the Registrar’s Office.

Viewing your schedule

  1. In Web4, click the Student tab.
  2. Scroll towards the bottom of the page, and then click Registration.
  3. Click Student Detail Schedule.

Making a payment

  1. In Web4, click the Student tab.
  2. Click View Charges and Make Payments.
  3. Click the View Charges – Pay Bill link.
    A secure payment page will open in your browser, which will display your balance.
  4. If desired, to view your account's details, you can click the View Current Activity link located to the right of any balance due.
  5. Click the Make a Payment link.
  6. Click the Pay link located next to the balance due and follow the instructions for making your payment.
  7. Close the secure payment page to return to the Web4 interface.

After Student Accounts receives your payment information, you will receive an email at your Fitchburg State University email account. If you have questions regarding your balance due or payment, you can reach the Student Accounts office at (978) 665-4126.
