Fitchtography Contest

Open to ALL Friends of Fitchburg State University

Share your campus photos here with other talented people. 
Contest #1 Top Photos  Contest #1 Winners

Every submitted photo that is accepted becomes part of the photo archive for university use. The photographer will earn points depending on the quality, creativity, subject matter, and potential uses for marketing purposes. The top photos in each category will be entered into the public phase of the contest where the community can vote on which photos will win.

Submit from Dec. 28, 2018 – March 31, 2019

Subject Matter

ALL SUBMISSIONS should fall into one of the following categories:
(2 submissions allowed per category for each fitchtographer)

  • Winter Commencement Shots  (share the celebration)
  • Snowy Campus (may contain people... and snow people)
  • People Using Technology On-Campus (get out your computers & gadgets)

Contest Rules 

  • By submitting a photo to the contest, the contributor is granting permission for the photo to become part of the university photo catalog, to potentially be used by the university for marketing or other purposes. Photo credits will be given whenever possible.
  • All photos are to be shot on the Fitchburg State University campus, indoors or outdoors.
  • Any people in the photo should be Fitchburg State students, employees or McKay Arts Academy students or Fitchburg State alumni. People in the photo should be aware that you are submitting their photo to the contest and agree with its potential use voluntarily.
  • Submit up to 3 photos per category to each contest.
  • Photos submitted to previous contests may not be resubmitted
  • Photos should be JPGs taken at between 10-24 Megapixels
  • Photos should be intended for general audiences, avoid controversy and competing colleges logos
  • Photos may be retouched as long as the end result is photographically plausible and not misleading the viewer. (ex. A photo depicting the smokestack in your hand is not photographically plausible)


  • Photo credit will be given when your photo is used in a publication whenever possible. 
  • Print Services will make an 11 x 14 print of the top 3 photos in each category for the fitchtographer.
  • More prizes to come!
