Summer Orientation

Get a feel for the Fitchburg State culture with our incoming-freshmen and transfer student orientation program. 

The four summer orientation sessions in 2018 are:  

  • June 18 & 19
  • June 20 & 21
  • June 25 & 26
  • June 28 & 29 

Make the Most of Orientation!


We want you to have the best experience when you come to orientation. Take a moment to review the information below and you'll be on your way to making the most of your time with us summer.

Please note that summer orientation, including the overnight stay, is mandatory.

  • Check in begins at 8 am in Aubuchon Hall - there will be signs for parking and directing you to check in.
  • After you check in grab some refreshments, get your ID picture taken, and request your parking pass.
  • Each student will stay in a double room with another incoming student. All students will be given a temporary access card to the halls during orientation.
  • Sheets and a towel will be provided, but you will need to bring your own pillow and a blanket.
  • The residence halls do not have air conditioning, if you think you'll need a fan, please feel free to bring one!
  • Pack light! Your stay on campus will be relatively brief.
  • There are no guests permitted during summer orientation, expect family members who are participating in the family orientation part of the program.
  • Students cannot leave the Resident Hall during their night stay. Food can be ordered in. Activities will be provided.
  • No use of alcohol or other drugs.
  • Students should expect to stay until 2:15 PM on day two.
  • There will be a $25 fee for lost key cards.

As a parent/guardian of a Fitchburg State student, you play an integral role in their academic success.

During your session, you will receive an introduction to the excellent programs and services that are made available to your student.

By providing you with a stronger understanding of student success, the Fitchburg State community, and more, we will leave you prepared for a smooth transition in September.
