2009 Survey Results

As the Fitchburg State graduating class of 2009 was concluding its freshman year, our Equity and Diversity Committee conducted a survey of attitudes toward diversity on campus. Respondents include students, faculty, staff, and administrators. The following are some of the results of the survey:

  • 23% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that respect for people of differing sexual orientation is a problem at Fitchburg State.
  • 20% of respondents agreed that there is a problem with friendship between students of different races, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, socio-economic status, or background.
  • 50% of respondents agree or strongly agree that Fitchburg State should have a graduation requirement that students take at least one course on the exploration of diversity in society.
