Instructions for Parents and Guardians

As the parent or guardian of an incoming Fitchburg State Student, we welcome your involvement in our ongoing educational alcohol prevention program. Your student is required to complete Part 1 of AlcoholEdu for College before arriving on campus. The average time to complete Part 1 is 3 hours; Part 2 is 15 minutes. (See Deadlines section for additional information.) The goal is to help students make well informed decisions as they make the transition into college life. We encourage you to take the alcohol education program as well, and talk with your student about what they have learned and how they will use this information in the future.

To take the program follow these steps:

  1. Go to:
  2. Under New User, enter the following Login ID: P165820PARENT

Important: Please do not share this website and login id with your child as he/she will not receive credit for course completion under this account.

  1. Click “Sign Up”
  2. On the registration page you will create your personal AlcoholEdu account and a password of your choice.
  3. You may log in and out of the course at the end of each section. DO NOT log out until you click the “Next” button or your answers will not be saved.
  4. When you return, log in as a Returning User and enter the same email address and password you created when you first logged into the course.
  5. There is a 45 day waiting period between Part 1 and Part 2 similar to the process that the students experience. The Parent Course is intentionally structured so that the parents and their respective student are going through the course around the same time. The only difference between the Parent Course and the student version is that the surveys and the exam have been removed.
