Concert, jazz bands perform April 10

Fitchburg State University’s Jazz Band and Concert Band will present their spring concert on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Weston Auditorium, 353 North St. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Jazz Band, under the direction of Michele Caniato, will play classic jazz and Brazilian-fusion tunes by Joe Henderson, Thelonious Monk and Wayne Shorter. The Concert Band, led by Michael LaCava, will perform a variety of music, from the classic “Chorale and Shaker Dance II,” a medley of songs from the musical “Chicago,” and “Crush,” an exciting new piece by famed band composer Robert W. Smith.
