History Major with Secondary Education

History majors can pursue a secondary education minor that equips them with the skills to teach history at the secondary level. Those who intend to teach history in a public high school should pursue the secondary education licensure track minor. Those who intend to teach history in a private school, or who do not intend to teach, may pursue the secondary education non-licensure track minor. Both minor tracks can increase your marketability as a professional by enhancing your abilities to share information with others and work effectively with diverse populations.

History majors pursuing a secondary education minor must complete all the coursework for the history major as well as the coursework for the appropriate middle and secondary education minor track.
