Technical Theater Minor

The Technical Theater minor offers practical courses that serve the professional or education career-minded student in scene design, lighting, sound, properties, costumes, make-up and stage management areas of study. Students in the minor will be involved in mounting full-scale theatrical productions, produced and directed by our Theater Program faculty.

Students must have a 2.0 minor GPA to be awarded a minor. Once a student is in the program, she or he must maintain a GPA of 2.5 after three courses in the minor to remain in the minor.

Note:  Courses used to fulfill any requirements within the Communications Media major may not be used for the Technical Theater minor.

In This Program 

You will: 

Be able to serve in an entry-level position for a production company or as an educator, supplement programs at schools where productions/concerts/recitals are mounted and are seeking the technical theater skillset served by this minor.
