An Introduction to Cultural Competency for Educators

Classrooms today are full of diversity - in population, resources and academic abilities. This course will assist pre-service teachers, current teachers and other professionals in their application of the depth and scope of various issues of multiculturalism affecting English language learners, public schools, and literacy in the United States today. The course will facilitate personal growth and understanding in the impact of equity and bias towards multicultural issues.

Supporting LGBTQIA and Gender Diverse Student in the K-12 Environment

This course is an introduction into the challenges that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA+) students face in schools on a daily basis. By understanding terminology, historical context, and the preconceived notions we ourselves carry about the LGBTQIA+ community, we can begin to create intentional, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.

Intercultural Competency Training for Real Estate Professionals

As North Central Massachusetts becomes more culturally diverse, Realtors are to effectively conduct business in a culturally competent way. When Realtors understand how language, heritage, and culture shape our communities, they can better serve their clients, build long-term relationships, participate fully in fair housing practices and benefit from continued referrals.
