The Nancy Kelly Memorial Lecture will be given at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 in Presidents’ Hall in the Mazzaferro Center, 291 Highland Ave. The lecture by Amherst College Associate Professor Leah Schmalzbauer is entitled “Motherhood, Migration and ‘Illegality’ in the Rural American West.” Refreshments will be provided.
A panel discussion will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 in the main lounge at Hammond Hall, 160 Pearl St. “Celebrating International Women’s Day: Challenges Faced by Women Across the Globe in the 21st Century” will feature international students and faculty members. Refreshments will be provided.
Film, music, poetry and visual art will be featured during “Women in the Arts – A Celebration for Women’s History Month” at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 23 in Kent Recital Hall in the Conlon Fine Arts Building, 367 North St.
The month’s observations will conclude with the second annual Lead(h)ership Conference from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 31 in the main lounge of Hammond Hall, 160 Pearl St. The conference is being run by students in the University’s Feminist Conversations club.
