Leadership Program

The Leadership Program provides students the interactive opportunity to develop, advance, and practice various leadership skills that will benefit them as individuals, leaders, and citizens.

Leadership Council

A group of students who have demonstrated a high level of leadership on campus. The council plans and implements the various leadership programs/conference. Members are selected by an application process and are supported by an advisor from the Office of Student Development.

Emerging Leaders Retreat

A three-day, off-campus experience focused on exploring your skills while understanding your strengths and limitations.

Develop Leaders Retreat

A two day, local Fitchburg area experience dedicated to the value of teamwork while giving back to the community.

You'll participate in team building activities and will be assigned a community service project to complete.

Advanced Leaders Retreat

A two-day, off-campus experience that provides the opportunity for an advanced student leader to put their skills to practice. It consists of team challenges that will explore the group development process while practicing leadership skills.

Leadership Conference

An annual event held every spring, this conference features workshops that teach leadership development and how it can be applied.

The program is open to all students and consists of education sessions, a keynote luncheon, and a team activity.

Peer Trainers

Peer trainers are available to clubs and organizations upon request.

Trainers will work with clubs and organizations to provide them with a session of support to develop their group in an area of need.

Groups can request any topic; examples include time management, communication, delegation, etc.

External Leadership with Area High Schools

The leadership program reaches out to local high schools students in order to help them grow in their leadership abilities.

High school delegate groups are invited to join the annual Leadership Conference, with a special high school leadership track of sessions provided to them by our Student Government Association.

In addition, the Leadership Council provides sessions on high school leadership days on topics such as anti-bullying.

Recognition Night

This event recognizes student leadership efforts in various capacities who have excelled throughout the academic year.

Clubs, organizations, and individuals may be nominated for various awards to be given out during a ceremony that is followed by a celebration reception.
