Bridges Together

Bridges: Growing Together™ is an award-winning intergenerational program that promotes mutual respect, understanding, and friendships between elementary school students and older adults in the community.

ALFA had partnered with Bridges Together and the McKay Arts Academy Innovation School here on campus at Fitchburg State University to offer this exciting opportunity for older adults in our area and 3rd graders to interact and learn from each other.

You will give:

  • Time (six weekly sessions, each an hour long)
  • Life experience
  • Kindness

You will receive:

  • An hour of joy and energy from these children.
  • New perspectives on children today and your own history.
  • Knowledge on different topics covered in the program.
  • Opportunities to reflect on your own life story, who you are, and how much you have to offer the next generation!
