Medical Insurance

Massachusetts Law C.15A.s.18 requires every undergraduate student registered for 9 or more credits and every graduate student who is registered for 7 or more credits to purchase health insurance.

All students are charged for the university health insurance plan.

If the student chooses not to purchase the university plan they need to complete an on-line waiver form that can be accessed by clicking the "Waive Health Insurance on-line" on the student accounts website. This process must be completed to avoid being charged the insurance cost on the tuition bill.

  • Qualifying Student Health Insurance Program (QSHIP) at www.state.ma.us/dhcfp, which offers information about the Student Health Insurance Program as mandated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This link is located in the box on the left side of the page.
  • 2010-2011 Student Health Insurance Plan of the Massachusetts State University System is a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan offered by University Health Plans. You can review the policy at www.universityhealthplans.com
  • University Health Plans Insurance will be covering the cost of the HPV vaccine, Gardasil. This is a series of 3 shots.
