Alumni Membership Card Discount Program

Board of Directors and Committees

All alumni are eligible to stand for elected office in the Association or to request appointment to one of the Association's committees. Currently the Association has the following committees: Awards, Scholarship, Nominating, and Engagement. If you would like to get involved, please contact the alumni office.

Career Services

Career counseling, career networking, and resumé assistance are always available to you! Contact the Career Services for an appointment. Some evening hours are available.

Career Certificate Programs

The Center for Professional Studies (CPS) at Fitchburg State offers professional development for a variety of fields and they have a great resource for alumni. They have partnered with MindEdge Learning to offer the very latest in self-paced online courses and certificate programs. These programs are perfect for learners who seek to advance in their current positions, explore career alternatives, earn a professional certification, or enhance their knowledge in their area of interest.

As a Fitchburg State alum, you are able to take advantage of a 10% discount on any of these courses using the code: FSU10.

Commencement / Traditions

Alumni representatives are an important part of commencement. Each year alumni are asked to represent their class in the academic processions at the winter and spring commencement exercises. Traditionally, a breakfast for alumni delegates is held the morning of spring commencement. Contact the alumni office to represent your class at the next commencement.

Library Borrowing Privileges

Alumni may borrow materials from the library at no charge. The alumni membership card must be presented when applying for a library card.

Magazine

Our digital magazine features class notes, alumni success stories, student projects and research, stories of philanthropy, alumni and student testimonials, and campus updates. Submit a class note and tell your fellow classmates what you're doing. We also encourage alumni to send us ideas for feature stories.

Parking Permits

Alumni may apply for parking permits through the Office of Housing and Residential Services and Parking Services. Permits are $10 for the year and are valid for all red parking lots, including the Recreation Center lot. Visit Parking Services to apply for your permit.

Resources for Educators

Fitchburg State University’s School of Education hosts an Alumni Resources webpage which include numerous current and culturally-relevant topics for teachers, administrators and other education professionals. From the response to COVID-19 and racial and ethnic disparities to educator wellness and professional association details, this collection of materials is intended to strengthen support of our alumni. Reunions and Events

Throughout the year, reunions and special alumni events are held on campus, in the community, and regionally. While 50th reunion class has events every year, any class may choose to plan their own festivities at any time. Contact alumni@fitchburgstate.edu if you wish to organize a reunion or event for your class or a club you were involved in.

Recreation Center

The Fitchburg State University Recreation Center on North Street offers 2 racquetball courts, a 1/4 mile indoor track, a basketball court, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Alumni may also sign up for group exercise classes, subject to availability. The cost to become a member at the Recreation Center is $25 per month, and you may register at your first visit to the facility. Visit Recreation Services for more information.

Scholarships

Alumni children, spouses, and close relatives attending the university may apply for the Alumni Legacy Scholarships offered by the Alumni Association. Scholarships applications are available September 1 - February 25 of each year.

School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education

The School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education offers more than 45 graduate and undergraduate degree and certificate programs, as well as non-credit courses for professional development and life-long learning. Whether you are seeking career advancement or a master's degree, looking for day, evening or online classes, range in age from 18 to 80, or are only a few classes or credits shy of earning a bachelor's degree, we have something for you. You'll find your style of learning here, at the pace that fits your needs.

University Bookstore
