Alumni can use their Fitchburg State University Alumni Association Membership Cards to receive discounts on their purchases at local businesses. Board of Directors and Committees
All alumni are eligible to stand for elected office in the Association or to request appointment to one of the Association's committees. Currently the Association has the following committees: Awards, Mara Award, Scholarship, Nominating, Student Engagement, Alumni Engagement, Hall of Fame, and Alumni Volunteer Recruitment. Alumni representatives are an important part of commencements at Fitchburg State University. Each year alumni are asked to represent their class in the academic processions at the winter and spring commencement exercises. Traditionally, a breakfast for alumni delegates is held the morning of spring commencement. Contact the Alumni Office to represent your class at the next commencement.
The alumni Contact magazine features class notes, alumni success stories, student projects and research, stories of philanthropy, alumni and student testimonials, and campus updates. Submit a class note and tell your fellow classmates what you're doing. We also encourage alumni to send us ideas for feature stories.
Library Borrowing Privileges
The alumni rate is $20.00 for one year. You must show your membership card at the library for this rate.
Reunions and Events
Throughout the year, reunions and special alumni events are held on campus, in the community, and regionally. While 50th reunion class has events every year, any class may choose to plan their own festivities at any time. Contact the alumni office if you wish to organize a reunion for your class or a special event for alumni of a club you were involved in as a student.
Discounts on campus facilities are available to alumni for professional conferences and workshops. A number of rooms and auditoriums are equipped for satellite teleconferences. Call the Hammond Center at (978) 665-3161 for more information.
UMASS Club Membership
Connect with fellow state university alumni in the heart of Boston! As alumni of the state university system, all Fitchburg State University alumni are eligible to apply for membership to the UMASS Club, located at 225 Franklin Street in Boston. The Club offers private dining as well as space for business meetings or private parties. Members may enjoy regularly scheduled events such as a speaker series, wine and scotch tastings, open houses and more. Membership also grants access to more than 200 ClubCorp facilities worldwide - country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and resorts. The Fitchburg State University Recreation Center on North Street offers 2 racquetball courts, a 1/4 mile indoor track, a pool, a basketball court, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Alumni may also sign up for group exercise classes, subject to availability. The cost to become a member at the Recreation Center is $25 per month, and you may register at your first visit to the facility. Visit Recreation Services for more information.
Alumni Parking Permits
Alumni may apply for parking permits through the Office of Housing and Residential Services and Parking Services. Permits are $10 for the year and are valid for all red parking lots, including the Recreation Center lot. Visit Parking Services to apply for your permit!
Alumni children, spouses, and close relatives attending the University may apply for the Alumni Legacy Scholarships offered by the Alumni Association. Scholarships applications are available February 1st - March 1st of each year. View scholarships here!
