Accepted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to Fitchburg State University! We certainly hope we will be welcoming you to the Fitchburg State community this fall.
A letter of congratulations from Governor Deval Patrick.
Next Steps....
-
Request to Join the facebook group for accepted students so you can begin to connect with your new classmates
-
Secure your place in the class by completing and returning your Confirmation of Acceptance and Proof of Residency forms (if applicable), along with a $235 deposit for on-campus students or $85 for commuting students to secure your place in the entering class.
- If you have not visited the campus or want to come back for another look, we have many opportunities for your to do so. Check out our visit page for more information.
Housing Application
Once your housing deposit is received, Housing and Residential Services will send you instructions for completing an online housing application. Learn more about the residence halls we have to offer as your "home away from home."
Commuter Students
Students who commute to campus do not need to submit a housing deposit. With almost 50 percent of our population commuting to campus daily, our commuter affairs organization provides helpful information and support.
Financial Aid
We are committed to making quality education as affordable as possible. We know the financial aid process can sometimes be confusing so please feel free to contact your financial aid counselor with any questions you may have regarding the financial aid process.
Placement Testing
Prior to orientation and course registration, all first year students must take the computerized placement test in Writing, Reading Comprehension and Algebra. These test results help identify which English, Mathematics, Writing and Reading courses are most appropriate for you at Fitchburg State University.
Summer Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR)
All students who confirm their enrollment by sending in a tuition deposit will be invited to attend one of the Summer Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) programs during the week of June 11-15. The Student Development Office assigns students to one of the orientation days automatically, so keep an eye out for information from the Student Development Office to learn which of these sessions you will be registered for in June. During this program you will register for classes, receive your email account, parking pass (if needed), and other helpful information to prepare you for your arrival in the fall.
Move-in day and Fall Orientation
All incoming freshmen and transfer students will be able to move into the residence halls early to attend a 2-day fall orientation program on September 3-4. Information for the Fall Orientation will be coming out over the summer, but be sure to mark your calendars now!
