Latin Minor

The Latin Program offers students the opportunity to begin the study of the Latin language or to continue study at an intermediate or advanced level.

Admission Requirements

Students who have taken more than one year of Latin in high school, but have not yet taken a Latin course at Fitchburg State University, are required to take a placement exam if they wish to register for a Latin course at the university level. Based on the results of the test, the student and instructor will determine the appropriate level of class for the student.

LATN 1000 Latin for Beginners I 3 cr.
LATN 1100 Latin for Beginners II 3 cr.
LATN 2000 Intermediate Latin I 3 cr.
LATN 2100 Intermediate Latin II 3 cr.

LATN 3010 Readings in Latin Literature 3 cr.
