Complete your bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education at Northern Essex Community College through courses offered by Fitchburg State University.

Through a collaborative agreement with Northern Essex Community College, Fitchburg State University offers bachelor completion programs in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. These degrees are specifically designed to allow graduates with an associate’s degree to complete a baccalaureate degree in a reasonable amount of time. Courses are held on the community college campus in Haverhill, Massachusetts. An associate’s degree is required to apply to these programs of study.

This collaborative program began in the fall of 2005 with a first cohort of 33 students, and there have been several additional cohorts that have followed since then, with a number of students completing their requirements and going on to become licensed teachers in Massachusetts and beyond. We are planning to welcome another cohort for the Fall 2012 semester. Students interested in joining this next cohort may be able to begin their Liberal Arts and Sciences courses sooner than that, as many of those are available online. The deadline to apply to this next cohort is May 1, 2012.

Stephanie is now teaching at the Parthum School in Lawrence, MA.
