Fitness Management Concentration
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Fitness Management
There is a common core of Exercise Science courses to ensure a solid foundation in the various disciplines that comprise this multidisciplinary field of study, and to ensure the ability to apply knowledge in a variety of practical experiences.
In addition to the required courses in Exercise and Sport Science, students in the Fitness Management Track are required to complete a series of courses in Business Administration: Principles of Management, Fundamentals of Marketing, Introduction to Managerial Accounting, Microeconomics, Introduction to Financial Reporting, Business Law I, and CIS for Business.
All Exercise Science students are provided the opportunity to be mentored by faculty in apprenticeships that include work in fitness testing, personal training, designing conditioning programs, and research. Opportunities to develop public speaking skills will occur each year, including participation in an annual Exercise and Sport Science Symposium to be held each April.

Requirements for the Concentration in Fitness Management
EXSS 2400 Health Promotion 3 cr.
Liberal Arts and Sciences Requirements
Some of the prerequisites and courses in the major fulfill
requirements in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. Additional
requirements are:
CHEM 1200 Chemistry for Health Sciences 4 cr. 6 hr.
PSY 1100 General Psychology 3 cr.
In addition to the required courses in Exercise and Sports
Science, students in the Fitness Management Concentration
are required to complete a series of courses in Business
