Program Overview
The Criminal Justice major provides students with courses which lead to a Bachelor of Science Degree and provides a foundation for employment in the Criminal Justice field and graduate work. The program is PCIPP approved.
Emphasizing both the intellectual and the practical, our major focuses on understanding the criminal justice system and its relationship to society as a whole. Students develop the academic skills needed to think critically about important facets of criminal justice, such as crime causation and prevention, organizational issues, research and evaluation methods, and moral and ethical dimensions.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Students can explore career options through an internship in a field of their choice, including but not limited to law enforcement, the court system, and corrections. The Criminal Justice major also prepares interested students for graduate school and law school.
