English Theater Minor

The minor in Theater offers courses that study the history and literature of theater as well as performing arts skills in acting.  Students have the opportunity to perform full-scale theatrical productions, produced and directed by our theater faculty.  Our productions range from the Greeks to the moderns, with just about everything in between.

Required  (12 cr.)

THEA 1700 Stage Movement 3 cr.
THEA 2700 Acting I 3 cr.
THEA 2730 History of Theater 3 cr.
ENGL 3020 Modern Drama 3 cr.

 

 Two Electives* (6 cr.) select from:

ENGL 3000 World Drama 3 cr.
ENGL 3010 American Drama 3 cr.
ENGL 4020 Shakespeare's Drama: Text and Performances 3 cr.
ENGL 4030 Interpreting Shakespeare's Works 3 cr.
SPCH 1700 Voice and Articulation 3 cr.
THEA 2740 History of Theater II 3 cr.
THEA 3400 Advanced Stage Movement 3 cr.

*One of these courses must be at the 3000 or 4000 level.
