Writing Tutoring
Individual Writing tutoring, a service of the Tutor Center, is available for all students at Fitchburg State University. Writing Peer Tutors work together with writers at all levels, in all stages of the writing process, and in all areas of study. Our focus is on clear communication. All writing tutoring begins with a discussion of the assignment or writing project. What happens next depends on where you are in the writing process and what your needs are.
It's important for you to know that we do not write on your paper! You are the author; together we notice problems, but you make any changes once we have explained the issue, and you make the final decisions. Writing Tutors only work with students who bring a typed paper and the directions for the assignment to the session.
The Writing Tutors also provide tutoring and preparation resources for education majors seeking assistance to prepare for the Massachusetts Test For Educator Licensure - Communications and Literacy Skills Reading and Writing tests. Massachusetts Test For Educator Licensure (MTEL) Information.
