Something for Students

Summer Vacation, part 1

Marissa Fratturelli and Caitlin Wolf spent a month in Paris working at UNESCO on environmental and gender issues.  Upon their return they presented their work at a department meeting attended by the university's new Vice President for Academic Affairs, Robin Bowen.

Summer Vacation, part 2

Ethan Cole has plans to study the geology of Hawai'i this summer, including volcanoes, of course.

We shall be giving the following awards this year,  the Stephen W. Clair Memorial Scholarship and the Outstanding Geo Student, as usual, plus two new awards, the Field Study Scholarship and the Outstanding Incoming Student award.  Names will be released soon!

The Geo Club

The Geo Club, which comprises all geography and earth science majors plus anyone else with an interest, is going on a bit of a hiatus.
