Something for Students
How They Spent Their Summer Vacation
Marissa Fratturelli and Caitlin Wolf spent a month in Paris working at UNESCO on environmental and gender issues. Upon their return they presented their work at a department meeting attended by the university's new Vice President for Academic Affairs, Robin Bowen.
Undergraduate Conference
Our department was well represented at Fitchburg State's Undergraduate Conference on Research and Creative Practice. Curt Heher, Katelyn Hennessey, Steve Wright, Patrick O'Brien and Marissa Fratturelli gave presentations, and Patrick had a poster, as well. Well done, all!
Awards
Marissa Fratturelli has been named the Outstanding Geo/Physical Sciences student for the Academic Year 2010-2011. Curt Heher was recognized for his hard work and special contributions to the department. Patrick O'Brien was named to the Stephen W. Clair Memorial Scholarship. Congratulations, Marissa, Curt and Patrick!
The Geo Club
The Geo Club, which comprises all geography and earth science majors plus anyone else with an interest, is going on a bit of a hiatus.
